hqdefaultMahanagar Gas Limited, one of India’s leading natural gas distribution companies, is undertaking Public Awareness Campaign to educate its valued customers in Mumbai and adjoining areas, cautioning them about fraudulent agencies posing as authorized agents of MGL.

The campaign highlights MGL’s existing measures in place to safeguard our customers from being defrauded.

  • All the customer support staff engaged through contractors of MGL have identity cards with Hologram
  • MGL Connect – MGL’s Mobile App has a feature to display the photograph of the meter readers by entering their ID number
  • MGL also alerts its customers through social media, walk-in centres and MGL website

The campaign is focused towards the need to ensure safety and security of MGL’s domestic PNG consumers and urges them to be proactive in terms of identifying fraudulence. Through this educational campaign MGL will reach out across its extensive network through various mediums such as Press Advertisements, PNG bill insertions, Cautionary messages at walk-in centres, Website and social media alerts to communicate about such deceitful practices.

Apart from these activities being carried out on a regular basis, MGL’s focus is to ensure that more rigorous efforts are made to avoid any untrustworthy activities towards its customers going forward.
