The equity benchmark indices closed the vprice-action-trading-explained-e1377490279173olatile trading session with small gains. The markets started off on a weak nte, but bounced back smartly during the latter half of the session to end in the green. The broader markets outperformed, with BSE Midcap and Small cap closing with healthy gains. Among the sectoral indices, Realty, Power and Utilities were the top performers, while Metals, IT and FMCG witnessed selling pressure.

While the sentiments remain positive, some profit booking could take place at higher level. Volatility is likely to remain high ahead of key events like Q2FY18 GDP data (scheduled this week), RBI monetary policy and upcoming state elections in Gujarat. Traders and investors should remain cautious and be selective in stock picking.
